I have a 72 mav without power steering, and tonight I was driving it and I turned my steering wheel all the way to the left to back out of a parking spot and when they steering wheel got to that stoping point where it doesnt turn anymore it made a real loud pop and kept on turning, and no I can turn real far left and not at all right, and I looked under the hood and the steering box had shot some kind of fluid everywhere under the car, is my steering box broken or what? if it is how hard is it to change(because I have another parts car that would be interchangable)
after you do the steering box do you have to adjust anything to make it turn just right or anything?

p.s. I know quite a bit about cars but I have no clue about steering and suspetion stuff
