: Well, in case you didn't know, as of December 31, 2000, the International Maverick/Comet Club, Inc. no longer exists. What I have put in it's place in a brand new club, made up of all the former members of the IM/CC. The new club is called: Maverick/Comet Club International, Inc. It is not a big change but hopefully a big change in how things will be run.
: As many of you know, I took over the presidency of the club. I also had to set up a not-for-profit incorporation in the State of Indiana. I had to hire a lawyer and a tax consultant to get this all done. We had enough money in the IM/CC treasury to pay for this. With the "old" name already in existence as a "corporation"....it was a lot easier to just start a new corporation with a new name than it was to move the existing "corp" here to Indiana. Also, if for some reason there were legal problems with the old club, I would avoid those by starting a new club.
: So back on the main message board page, you will see a link to the new club website up in the right hand corner. I encourage you to check it out.
: There have been many problems in the past with members not getting added to the database in a timely matter...or not getting items they purchased at all. These issues were out of my hands before...but not anymore. If there is a problem...I will take care of it.
: I appreciate all of you in your understanding on this, and I think you will find the club will run better than ever.
Graig:Why did We need a lawyer and tax consultant? Did You file a SS-4,and if so whats our EIN? (I belive thats all that was needed, and cost the price of a stamp).I understand the name change for banking pupose only!
