: Ok, let's be serious. There have been these so called 7, 8, 9 second street cars; I find it kinda hard to believe that a 7 second car is street legal. How is this possible? I am also wondering what would be required if I wanted to make my Maverick a low 9 sec. car (street legal). New tube frame? Suspension, what kind? What kind of HP and torque am I going to need to be able to run 9's? Would 550 flywheel hp be enough? How about HP/Torque for an 8 second car (street legal not required)? And finally, HP/Torque for 7 sec. car, and I don't need assumptions, I am asking for figures that have been known in drag racing.
go to PRESTAGE.COM then go into the car math section and you will be able to find just about any ratio-horsepower-torque-weight combo you can think of. i would have ran the math for you but ive got to get the kids in bed. let me know what you come up with. also while your their download the free stage tree to find your reaction times.
