Yes it will fit, get the crossmember that goes with the Bird, you'll probably still have to buy or make one for your Mav. I made my own, I just had to drill holes to bolt it up. Get the shifter and the TV Cable/Rod. If it's a cable it probably won't work. I use a rod on a 650 Holley and use the kickdown linkage, (modified) for the TV rod. Also get the vehicle info, Make, model, build date, you might need it for AOD adjustments. They have to be done using a pressure gauge. The local Ford dealership can provide all the info on setting it up. Plus the drive shaft. Always nice to have another just incase. front yoke is for a AOD anyway. And the Flywheel. You can have the flywheel rebalanced to you current flywheel specs. by a good shop. Had it done already several times. That way you can keep all the standard parts you already have. And the Block plate and starter.

: As some of you may know, I have recently had a problem and may have had to sell my cars. I may have just received the answer to the problem and may not have to sell.

: Someone my brother knows has an 87 T-Bird that was wrecked and is now being parted out. It has an AOD and the guy wants $100 for it. This would bring my mileage up considerably and would help me financially. Would this 87 AOD work in my 70? If so, what "exactly" needs to be done to fit it in? What type of shifter must be used for the swap?

: Thanks for any info.
