In addition to what Craig & Dave said.. First try putting your shifter into 1st. When it is all the way in low, is the shifter as far over as it can get? Or could the shifter go farther but the transmission is maxed out in that direction? If this is the case its probably just a shifting rod out of adjustment. The car is never really in Park when you put it in park, it is just in reverse. The shifter physically won't let the tranny get into park. It'll roll in reverse. -CP
: Please help me if you have any info. I just bought a 70 Maverick and I love it, but it will roll if you put it in park. The e-brake needs work but I know the car should stay in one place. When my friend and I were working on it under the hood, the tranny slipped into reverse and the car tried to get away. If you have any info, please help. It is a 200 straight six and I belive it has a c-4. One other thing is that the column shifter does not click through gears like my friends 72 Grabber did. Thanks
