He's probably talking about a Boss 302. The heads are described as semi-hemi heads or poly-angle wedge heads. I'd take him up on his offer to see his "hemi-302". It might turn out to be a Boss 302.
And as for the Chevy 302 being a better engine... BS. To prove my point, read up on how the Boss 302s dominated the 69 and 70 Trans-Am racing series. The Boss engine has a MUCH superior block, crank, connecting rods, and head design. They will out rev and hold up considerably better than a Chevy 302.
