since time & cost is a factor, stay with the one you have. trying to find another already setup is going to cost you time & money. Besides you can make your's anyway you want and not have to deal with someone else's ideas. I have a 460 I installed in a 82 Zephyr. Been working on 429/460s since 72. Including 429 CJs. Power guide is a good trans if built probably. C-6 will handle a 460 even stroked. It's just heavier & takes up more room. RPM Pref. manifold is a good one to use. You'll need frame connectors & roll cage to keep from bending the body.

: Well, I found a chassic guy thats willing to take it on, but he raised a
: interesting point for me. It would be MUCH cheaper to find one that is
: already setup for a big block to begin with. Was also talking about setting
: the engine back a foot and using a drysump oilpan to lower it down in the
: chassic. On the plus side, the shock towers will remain intact for the most
: part, but the wirewall and floorpan will not. I guess what it comes down
: to is speed equals money, how fast do I want to go?

: As for you guys running small block strokers, you can keep your 347's
: 408's or what not. If I want to stroke a stockblock 460 I can go well
: over 500 cubes with no problems and little added expense when you start
: talking the expensive racing parts. Mine will still have tags to be
: able to run in the street class if I want to, but it will not be a street
: car in any way shape or form. I'm also not interested in making a pro
: streeter out of it.

: Right now my concern is if I want to make it fully NRHA legal or not, and
: if I want to cut the car up or buy one that has already been set up.
: Whatever I do, I need to get it done before the racing season starts
: back up in late April.

: I just sold the tunnelram and 850 holley I was gonna use (as well as
: my Sniper system) to help offset the expense that will be involved, but
: I figure for under $6000 I should have a car that will run sub 10s in
: the quarter, and I'm not talking out my ass. I've also located a used
: powerglide with a 5500 stall that I should be picking up in a few days.
: I don't think my C-6 will work for the intended power level, plus the
: glide will make it a bit faster. I'll have a gameplan down in the coming
: weeks after I figure out what class it will be in, and what I'll need to
: do to make it fully NHRA legal, and any you guys know anybody I can contact
: that has a bigblock Mav, Falcon, ect? Right now it's not an issue of if
: I'm gonna do it, its WHEN I'm gonna do it.
