I've decided that I'm going to do the minimum on my I/6 and work towards building a V8 302 & Tranny as I can afford it. I need to replace the oil pump & was planning on doing rings while I was at it as they need to be replaced. Since I'm doing minimal work I was not planning on replacing bearings, cam or any of that stuff. I do get alot of blow by past the threads on the spark plugs. I think they either are a little stripped or had been in the past & were re-threaded. I'm wondering what I can do, affordably, to fix that? Could I re-thread them again? Should I just put up with it? Will the new rings keep enough oil out of the cylinders so as to nullify the problem? The spark plugs get fouled pretty quick & I'm assuming the rings will take care of that. Any advice & or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
