Idle speed wanders,and after its been sitting a few hours,like overnight.n/m

Like will it idle, then speed up for a few seconds, then go down again? Or does it chug while idle? As far as the highlight situation, does this happen only when the car has been sitting for awhile(few hours), or every time you turn them on?
