Yesterday I popped on over to the mustang shopping mall to check out a '78 (double checking compatibilty... taking NO chances as you can guess...)
I will not be blinded by sport mirrors or bucket seats *drool...*
The potential doner is still up for sale but the starter thing worries me. He said it needs a starter... (Of course my first reation is, "why doesn't he buy one and then sell it?".
Hmmmm...
Mav's are notorious for having their flywheels "eat starters" (been there twice) and don't fancy the idea of rebuilding yet another tranny (having it done) on top of things.
I will NOT buy this doner without hearing it/seeing it move under it's own power. Should I a) buy a yard starter to test it? b) make sure I have a knowlagable car person there? (getting somewhat scarse)
c) Walk away without looking at it? It's been listed for a month with no takers... I have been saving and planning for this and I'll soon have the cash in hand. I don't want to blow it AGAIN!
Thanks guys....
