sounds like a different pittman arm, check the parts store on suspension parts and see if they list a different on for those years. I do believe they made a change in the steering box in 71 going to a quicker ratio. But that should be all. They may have also used a longer shaft from the box. Hooker super comp may also be bigger tubes? Early Mav, used allot of old early Comet parts until they started making them just for Mav/Comets

: bought headers[hookers super comp.] well after taking my old headers out and tring these they hit when you turn wheel to left!!!ran #thru jegs and there for 71 up to77 not 70 ..why ?they didnt change anything from 70to 71 .....but maybe moved arm lower or??? help me?? thanks
