I just got thru replacing the passenger side strut about a month ago. It broke on me also. bought both sides so I have a spare for the driver side should it ever go out. The bushings are brand new Polygraphite that I installed just over a year ago. I noticed a BIG difference in handling with the polygraphite bushings over the rubber ones. Still handles like a boat but not quite as sloppy. Still need to replace the springs though but do have heavy duty shocks all the way around.

Thanks for the idea though.

: : I learned that lesson when I last did the brakes. Made sure I had one front & one back per wheel & in the configuration shown in the book. If I remember it showed short to the rear of the drum and long to the front. I've loosened the left front brake to where it will spin freely and tightened the right front and it still pulled to the left. Odd thing is it doesn't allways pull. Only sometimes. I re-adjusted the brakes after the above test so they are about equal. Usually works good but every once in awhile it will pull like crazy. I'm going to bleed them again, just to make sure, this weekend or next week sometime and see if that makes a difference.

: : : Don't be offended by this, but are you sure that you don't have the same brake shoes on the same wheel(as in two front shoes and two rear shoes). I don't mean rear as in the rear axle but how they are mounted on the backing plate. (I've done this before). It would make one side grab before the other side touches. Just a fond memory of my first brake job. Russ

: If they are bad, then the lower control arm will move more freely. Also...be careful. These cars are getting older. My passenger side strut bar broke on me while I was test driving the new discs. Bring it in to an alignment shop and have them back the nuts off and look for fractures around the area that the nuts are currently. Might want to pick up a set from a later Mav just incase...before they are all crushed.
