I also had the vinyl roof that you are talking about. Does it have the chrome strip that goes along the edge of the roof line, and does it end at the bottom edge of the rear window. I removed the vinyl roof and the chrome strips. The chrome strips had rivets sticking up I think that I ground down smooth. I am not too sure because I did this part about 5 years ago. As for the chrome strip directly under the windows. Most Mavericks had this, I think it looks better with it than without. I hope this helps.
