I think you are talking about an actual shifter, these guys are talking about a kit that contains some parts (not sure, valve body, seals, gaskets, etc.) that are actually used on the transmission internals. As for your shifter question, most of them are cable operated, if not all. It really doesn't take a whole lot more than cutting a hole and bolting it in place. The included instructions with B&M shifters are pretty good.

Inshan :$25 sounds awful cheap. What else do you need to convert a column-shift automatic to one of these? -- besides the hole in the transmission tunnel ;)
