To get the shelf out you have to take out the back seat and the side panels, you have to take out the entire back seat, the lower back seat is hooked from underneath so you have to squeeze top and bottom togather from the front. It should slide right out but you might have to fight it. The top half is easy, there are two bolts holding it from the bottom and after that it pops up and off. The side panels are really easy to take off, just some philips screws and they slide forward and off. Make sure you pull toward you dash as there is a thing in there that pinches the panel to the quarter window area. After that the shelf comes right out. You might think about carpeting it as it tends to rattle if you don't. You might have some insulation in the way too, it just pulls off. If you want to go bigger and louder you can mount a pair of 12's in the opening between the cab and the trunk, I could probobly post a pic if you want.
