I have a 72 Maverick with a 250 6 cyl, with headers, and I have put a 2bbl carb on it. My header gasket is blown and I am waiting for the new one to come in but when I have been driving it around and a couple days ago it got alot louder. When you hit the gas and let off quickly it backfires. I was driving at night and noticed that it shoots flames out the exhaust pipe when it backfires. I am wondering if a burnt exhaust valve could cause this or if its just because I have too big of a carburator on it. any help would be appreciated thanks Jeff
