::I need help here guys. Here is the situation. I dropped the 200 rebuilt long block in pretty simply. A couple of little snags but no biggie. Anyway, the lights work and the starter makes one click and attempt to turn the engine over but NOTHING. I primed the oil pump with a deep socket and thought that I was ready to go. What should I check first and what should I do?

:..Mark, do what Earl has sugested first, Then if your still locked up then consider a jamup when bolting the motor against the trans. I'm sure the shop didn't give the block back in that condition. Rings on a newly honed block will drag somewhat but not that much. Could remove the starter to check for lockup there. A pry bar attempt to move the flywheel can be done but don't over do it and break a tooth off. Its going to be found in one of these areas. Luck be with you. Ken

Just a thought because I did it once, assuming you are using a c4 auto trans, check the torque converter bolts. Had used one that was a bit longer than the others and it hit the block. I think Ken has it narrowed down to that area. Is there coolant in the engine?, could be a Hydraulic in a cyl. if you have a leak. As Earl said pull the plugs, then see if any fluids come out of a cyl etc. Keep at it you'll find it. Be sure and let us know your findings.
