When you come on the BB and say "my car is doing this"....
My roomie called from Renton Yesterday... His car (91 Tortise, sorry, Tarus, inverted v-6) saying his car was "Billowing white smoke and knocking like crazy... Of course first thing that pops into MY mind is Head gasket, even without the tell tale oil/water mix on the dipstick... I pronounce my death sentance (this poor car is on it's last legs all over the place anyways) but advise him to arrange to have it towed off the freeway as soon as possible anyway... he calls his BIL, a mechanic, to come and get the car and THEN I find out that he neglected to tell me that the oil was 3 quarts too full.... car is going for the oil drain today.... I'm thinking of leaving him a new quart of oil on his bed....
