:back in high school a friend of mine got some cool wheels he put on himself. the lugnuts kept coming loose and he tightened them up all the time. i never saw the car until it was too late and by that time the wheels of course got their lug holes rounded out and he needed new rims. i offered to help him by watching him put on new rims again. when he started to put the lug nuts on i noticed that he was putting them on flat side towards the wheel. that was something i never thought about and i still cant believe that he did that. i guess if he had bought nicer lugnuts with only one threaded opening that wouldnt have happened. sometimes i suppose being thrifty and ignorant is a deadly combination. mike
