You might want to keep in mind that you can buy a "crate engine" from Ford Racing for less than 1500 bucks. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred to get it installed, unless the person wants to rip you off. That would beat the heck out of patching together an old production motor with a questionable background. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you do the best thing for yourself. I know I let myself be "talked out" of my first car, a 75 302 Grabber, because I was just distraught about the oil pump going down and damaging the crank. I gave my car and $400 dollars to boot for a ragged out 76 Olds Cutlass with a bad tranny. The guy I traded it to bought a junkyard 351W for $100 bucks and had it back on the road in less than a week, laying down rubber everywhere he went. Talk about heartbreaking! GOOD LUCK!!! By the way, isn't Kanter less expensive than PST? They've got a Maverick Deluxe front-end kit for $229.00. Not sure, just a thought. Earl Related link: Kanter Ford Front-End Kits |
