Not so. All the Granada/Maverick calipers were designed to use a small metal clip which holds the pad in place on the caliper. You may not have had one because the PO probably tossed it without realizing he needed it. You can still get them at the auto parts store for a couple of bucks, but no amount of "glue" will properly retain the pads and keep them from rattling. At Autozone the part number is Brakeware H5412B and costs $1.69.
