Craig! The part you are referring to is the fuel pump eccentric (off center). It is attached to the cam timing gear. I'm talking about the small almost sheet metal round device that goes on after the crankshaft timing gear. It is installed before the timing cover and harmonic balancer. I have a feeling that most ford engines do not have one as they eliminated this sometime in the 70's. I left the mechanical fuel pump eccentric on just in case I can't get this EFI going. That is not an oil slinger, but a fuel pump "cam". This "slinger" is what pumps the mechanical fuel pump. The EFI motors don't have this mechanical pump....so they don't need this "cam". They use an electric fuel pump. |
