Rudy, I don't really have answers to your questions but I do have one suggestion that may be of interest to you. Why not remove the vinyl top and paint the top black leaving the chrome in place. In fact, some cars in the 50's and 60,s came with painted tops as opposed to actual vinyl. If you do this than you can get the body done all at once. Just remember that removal of the vinyl top to ready for paint may be a pit of a headache. Just a thought
