:::I'm painting the engine compartment of my 72 with stain black spray paint (it actually looks pretty good). Anyway, after cleaning the metal, I wiped it down with lacquer thinner. Paint applied well except for one small place on a shock tower. As soon as the paint touches the metal it "boils up" (like when you use gel paint remover. I wiped the area down w/lacquer thinner and repainted -- same result. Then I sanded it down, wiped with thinner and tried again, still boiled. I remember from a long time ago that you're not supposed to paint enamel over lacquer (or vice versa), but that doesn't make sense cause the paint "took" everywhere else. Any paint experts out there?
:::Thanks. Tom
