:Has anyone here changed their a/c system to the new R-134a or does anyone know any information on it? I would like to have opions on whether or not to try it. A few years ago when the compressor went out on my Aerostar I had the system switched over to R-134. It is most definitely not as cold as the old R-12. I have heard from many people that putting R-134 into a system designed for R-12 will result in a less efficient system. The biggest issue is at idle, not nearly as cold as the R-12 was.
