:While scrounging at my local junkyard for small maverick bumpers (yeah right) i came accross a vehicle i just had to have - 1 1963 Ford F100 shortbed stepside. Anyway the motor is an I6, and runs very strong. The problem is is that no one knows the displacement or year of the motor (it's not the original). I was hoping that someone may know of a website or something that may shed some light on the subject. The block casting number is O1AE-6015-K. Thanks in advance.
.
Tom, my info does not include the early six so a guess is based on the following. Facing the engine, if the carb/mainfold is on the right side and the valve cover is a flat/rounded edge style with top hold down nuts and the oil filter is on the left side, it can be a 223 or a 240 cu.in. The engine is physically a little larger than the later Mav sixes. They were pretty decent engines.
