hello! i have done that very same swap with my 1971 Grabber.
i used my original i6 transmission with my 300 hp 302. All i did was install a V8 bellhousing and use the V8 transmission crossmember.I used a different drive shaft as i ripped the yokes out.anyway the orginal transmission is still holding on strong and still shifts great.! there is some differences in the c4's used on i6 compared to the c4's used on V8 ones but the difference is internal.i drag race my car hard and the transmission is still good! this is my experience anyway...some one might tell me wrong though. any questions email me ! kris |
