...so far we California car enthusiasts have been able to shut them down each time this sort of "legislation" (read:SHIT)is brought up. How, you may ask?! By being involved in your local 'car' scene AND being PROACTIVE about this kind of crap. Yes, our elected officials do have to answer to us, and they get pretty 'nervous'when thousands and thousands of potential votes are at stake. (What do you mean you don't vote! You're only plausible excuse is that you're under the age of eighteen or possibly a convicted felon). We are also fighting the Remote Sensing stations they're trying to shove down our throats (or is that up our tailpipes?) This farce of a system is only about 45% accurate WHEN it works right, and through in a little moisture or dust in the air and it's accuracy drops even further. The other downside is it does know which tailpipe the "smog" came from...if you happen to be crusin' along with some P.O.S. puking gallons of unburned unleaded out it's tailpipe YOU could be cited and sent in for an Emissions System Review, regardless of year of manufacture! Bottom line...get involved and don't rely on "somebody else" to take care of it. Stepping off my soapbox now...
