some of the nonfactory high volume/pressure waterpumps actually put out 3 times the pressure that factory ones do. For example, I have to 460 Fords, one stock with factory pump and one with a Weiand. The factory one puts out max. 14psi, and the Weiand has put out as much as 37psi. Just so you know I used a 50psi pressure gage to measure this at the thremo hosuing with engine at operating temp. I started blowing off hoses and wondered about it. My cap has never been a problem, just when I reved the engine up. I use a 16 psi cap and double hose clamps now. No more problem.

: Does anyone know what would cause my car to to push coolant out of the radiator cap at when it revs up? The Cap is a new 16lb.and
:I have also tried another cap. I have a stock aluminum 289 type
:water pump and a 4 row radiator. The engine has a Moroso
:4" underdrive pulley On the harmonic balancer. When you rev the engine ,or "get on it" while driving it will push coolant out of the radiator cap.
