:i would like to know where i can get an aod and how much will it cost i have a 71 mav grabber with a 302 and c4 tranny. and what kinda mods would i have to do to make it work.? thanks for your info on this board.
:LIQUIDMAV.

... There are lots of sources for the trans. What do you have in mind? Look at the mags for adds. The AODs run $900 +/-. Use 86 or later unit.
... Some info you need to know.
...Trans mount must be moved further to the rear of the of the present c4 location.
...There could be a drive shaft length change. Some units are different lengths.
...A cable called a 'TV cable'or linkage, is needed to control the transmission pressure with throttle operation and connects to the carb lever. (a must have)
...Floor shift control and linkage needed.
...Make sure that AOD converter bolts up to your present flywheel.
...Cooling lines adapted to the AOD like the C4 has.

...If you get a trans of unknown condition, you will get into a hassle with it when you find it does't work right. The TV cable must be adjusted near correct before the car is driven very far or the bands will burn if the pressure is to low even on a new or known good unit.
...IV'E only tried to give an overview for you to see what has to be considered. There are other owners who have done this so listen to there advice because some have also learned the hard way.
..Good luck, Ken
