:Thought I'd consult the experts. I ran into a car the other day here in Texas that the owner claims is an original stallion. (The paint job appeared to be a rather poor imitation of an original) My question is this: What would indicate this to be a factory stallion and not a copy? Not the VIN, but what about the trim or body codes? Thanks for your help! Since I got my first Stallion earlier this week, I've been pouring over every resource I could find for everything surrounding this particular car. From what I've found so far, to answer your question, nothing else other than the VIN tells you that it's a Stallion. For example what you'd look for in the VIN is *#91#****** (the explitives represent numbers or letters). The "91" is the sales number representing the Stallion. Some titles, depending on the state, will have the model also. Mine was titled in Ohio which they put the model of the car titled. That's how I knew it was an original Stallion. Now, I have to retitle it in Pennsylvania which does not put anything on the title other than the make. I could find nothing on the door jamb plate which differentiate this from any other Maverick. Now, I don't claim to be an expert (yet), but that's what I've learned so far. Hope it helps ( and I hope I'm right!)
