Need a better Machanic

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 73 mav. The problem is 1.people underestimate my car knowledge because I'm a woman and 2.I dont really trust fast talking machanics who are eager to get under my hood! I'm in los angeles,ca If anyone knows a good machanic drop me a line.
