removing power steering

just curious...
i have a 72 V8 maverick. unfortunately it has power steering. ive been told its ez to remove, and others say i will have to find another maverick that didnt come with power steering, and transfer parts.
i suspect the gallery of a ford maverick board, would be better qualified to answer this.

what is the cheapest way to make my maverick no longer have power steering?
is it relatively inexpensive?
is it a relatively simple/ez to do job?
