:just curious...
:i have a 72 V8 maverick. unfortunately it has power steering. ive been told its ez to remove, and others say i will have to find another maverick that didnt come with power steering, and transfer parts.
:i suspect the gallery of a ford maverick board, would be better qualified to answer this.
:
:what is the cheapest way to make my maverick no longer have power steering?
:is it relatively inexpensive?

:MT, Why is it unfortunate that you have power steering? Is there a problem?
..To remove, you need a manuel steering end to replace the power valve connected to the steering arm. Take the belt and pump off and (may) need a pulley set up to run the fan and alternator. The power cylinder also needs to be removed. Be awhere that the steering ratio between the two systems are different as well as the arm length off the box. Best to get the parts off a man. car. You maynot be happy with the result, it's a personal preference. Other board birds have done this change.
Best to you, Ken
