I have many circa-1970 Maverick Articles that I will be scanning. It will take a long time to load these, but print them and then you own them too. More to come soon.

CAR AND DRIVER - MAY 1969

This is a very interesting article, depicting "Hot and Cold" Mavericks. Car Life tested the stock Maverick, then tested a Maverick with aftermarket tires & wheels, rear sway bar, deeper rear gears, and other "mods" to see what the potential for this new "mini-Mustang" really is.

This is an introductory article on the new Maverick. It theorizes about what cars the Maverick will really compete against. Very interesting insights, and some discussion about the upcoming Vega and Pinto (though those names are not used).

This preceded the above article, and included a brief test of the Maverick, thoughts on the car, and "How to give it spurs," a section about what the Maverick owner (or Ford Motor Co) might do to spruce up the Maverick ownership experience.

Introduction to the Maverick. Terrific color pictures are the best part about this article. Insights about how Ford marketed to car, and other information.

Hypothetical cutomer questions are answered in this excerpt from Ford Times. Ford obviously has a great spin on everything, but it is interesting to note how Ford wanted customers to see their new car, and how Ford explains certain design aspects.

the 1970 Grabber in August to see the fancy new trim package and also to test the new big 250 6 cylinder engine. Lots of numbers, pictures, and graphs, but the text is unfortunately lacking.

MOTOR TREND - AUGUST 1969

POPULAR MECHANICS - Aug 1969

Really neat article. Motor Trend found a dealer that, just a few months after the Maverick's introduction, shoehorned a BOSS 302, 4-speed toplader, and 9-inch rearend into a Maverick. Really neat technical info, plus a part number list for all parts involved.

HOT ROD - JANUARY 1970

Ford Maverick Road Test. Road & Track has some really neat road test data, and a big color cutaway of the Maverick is part of the article.

"Hot Stuff For Mavericks," this article proclaims, and it delivers. Three pages of some pretty neat modifications, both six-cylinder and V8 conversions are documented.
