yea thats the one. hopefully this thing will be moving at a little bit diffrent pace then the ol' sixer was getting
Not familure with the terms used here. E? Is that for Edelbrock? Also, is the 303 a solid lifter style cam? I have a Competition 292 and when I got it, the next one up was a solid. Thanks in advance for sharing...
E303 is one of Fords alphabet cams. . Roller cam, and pretty much the largest cam you can use with stock head springs.(498 lift) www.fordracingparts.com/download/charts/85.pdf
could use new springs with mine..traditionally a good small ford cam favors the exhaust side a little more, on the low end it's a little sluggish...but over 2grand and it gets goin....and I have 4.11s...they claim this cam is a good supercharger cam..
well the dizzy slid right in. was having trouble getting the oil pump shaft up into it but it all worked out. the timing marks on the gears are lined up and the dizzy is right on #1
If the marks on the timing gears are lined up properly(cam gear mark at 6 O'clock crank gear at 12 O'clock),its at TDC on compression stroke.
if the timing gears are lined up doesnt that mean TDC on compression? but no i didnt and as for starting, we're not quite there yet
Oh ... I missed the part where you can still see the timing marks on the gears ... guess you aren't ready to start it up ...
Unless he has it on one of those neet stands where he can start it, he still needs to get it into the car. I noticed the empty bay in the pic of the dizzy... I personaly like getting the motor in with out the stuff I can put on after...
