The gear is good, I'll throw a light on it next time I work on it and see whats up. Could moisture in the intake possibly cause this problem?

Plus, if I ever have to sell it, I can spin it as "frame reinforcement".
One of my theories is that somebody was running slicks at one point and hooked up so hard it cracked the frame.
That's exactly where this one is cracked, no evidence of any towing though.
