I agree with most on here & think that a little stiffer valve springs & a tad more gear will get you where you want to go.
For a drag car you always want the top of your tires toed in slightly,this will make the car want to go straight.
I`d feel much better w/ a set of $300 scat rods in it,stock crank & forged pistons & you will be good to go.
If that does not fix it,try a 1 wire HEI dizzy,heck,for a $100 bucks it would be worth it.Not as much spark but a simpler set up.
