what welder are you looking to buy? make sure you get a mig WITH a bottle, for doing those repairs, thats your best bet.

Don't mean to intrude, but how were you able to coat the inside of the cowl? I'm looking to do the same procedure myself.
might be cheaper to get a welder and tackle it yourself.

What you need to get is those nuts with the "oval" thread circumference. they're lock nuts, but not like what you'd think. they're hard to come by...
