Assuming the engine has a fuel pump eccentric on front of camshaft(not installed on EFI engines from factory), a '70s 302 pump will be what you want... Could also use a aftermarket electric pump ...
Side note: can I use a 92 8.8 rear end out of an f150? So basically if I want to build this engine w/o electronics build off a 70's 302
Not unless you want to cut the wheel wells and let the wheels hang out about 3 or 4" on each side... Really not even then as sprting perches are incorrect in location... For engine, AFAIK everything except the front ballancer and flexplate for '70s can be used, those must be for a newer than '82 5.0/302, no exceptions... OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE, You'll need a throttle valve cable for the AOD that are generally aftermarket or maybe for a early '80s Crown Vic, T-Bird, etc(carbed and AOD application)... If you don't connect it or do it improperly, the trans will slip and clutches/band will be burned almost immediately...
yep, that's the one he's talking about. There are adjustable ones similar to the throttle valve(TV) cable used on the GM stuff in that they are a ratcheting style in which you set them a bit too short and mat the pedal till they "ratchet out" to the correct setting. This allows line pressure to rise more quickly yet still allows maximum stroke length to prevent hanging up before WOT is reached at the carb.
If you look real closely, she's a roller also, someone sold a block on here awhile back with XXX in the valley, which I happen to have as well
Then it also has the spider that holds the roller lifters in position... All this means it isn't a 1985 F-150 engine as they never had a roller cam, at least from factory... Check the spark plugs to see if they have 1/2" or 3/4" of threads...
Well it isn't a F-150 engine, they never used the longer shank plugs(early versions of those plugs used threads all the way up to seat, why I asked if were 3/4")... What you have is the Lo-Po 150Hp 5.0 that was used in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car, T-Bird/Cougar from '86 till '91(though not that late on all models)... All those engines used a wimpy roller cam with the restrictive E6SE heads that require the longer plugs... Sooo you're back to needing a steel gear on dist...
