If you are talking BBK 1515 shorties, they won't begin to fit into a Maverick engine bay(at least while bolted to engine)....
Yeah but they still won't fit as the pipes extend outward far enough to hit shock towers... I have the 1515 on my T-Bird and tried actual fit in the Comet, not happening... No Idea what headers can be used, need some that tubes curve downward and run below plugs...
I dunno, are quite a bit wider than headers that fit... I wasn't going to cut so quit at that point...
My merc. mountaineer 5.0 got a roller cam from sumitt , $180.00. This was the cheapest rooler 5.0 i could find. Is this normal?
Are we positive I need a rear sump pan for the 302? Bc it looks like my power steering shaft is in the way
No -- You need a front sump pan... I reused all the parts(oil pan & pickup, timing cover, brackets, etc) from my orig 302...
The oil pan and pickup would be the same as used on all 1965 to 1973 small block mustang and all V8 mavericks! If the engine came from a car 1979 or newer the front cover needs to be changed because the newer engines have no place for the dipstick, All newer cars have the dipstick in the side of the block !
Several other models used the front sump pan as well, Falcons, Fairlane, Torino, Cyclone, Cougar etc, full size through '72(302 dropped for '73), as did '75-'80 Granada, Monarch & Versailles...
Why would this matter? Also, it's been a while since we've talked about oil pans, so excuse my ignorance
