They are 65 heads that I bought from streamliner... They have good springs, screw in studs, roller tip rockers and guide plates... I will try and fit a edelbrock rpm into the mix..

Any of these: Performer RPM, or Air Gap, Weiand Stealth, Ford C9OX, Ford Racing A321, Edelbrocks old F4B, or a Shelby "Cobra" intake. The old Edelbrock Torker 289 with the twisted carb pad was a good-un too.

The 65 hds don`t have the bump in the exhaust port, put some chevy 1.5 exhaust valves w/ stellite seats & 1.85 intake valves in them. Then have the combustion chamber unshrouded around the intake valve & they make decent power especially if you pocket port underneath both valves.

You should seriously consider porting Fords extremely poor flowing exhaust ports. On a higher compression/higher winding small block.. you'll get rewarded with power EVERYWHERE in the power band. Mileage will also go up too.

And I'd be using at least a 1.54 exhaust valve in that head too. Chev's run well with 1.5's due to a much larger/better port design.. but Fords need all the extra curtian area they can get and improves exhaust scavenging/intake ramming in the process.

You'll also want to be sure to run a gasket that best matches the size of the headers being used and match the head to that gasket for best result as well. I usually even go so far as to raise the gasket and header slightly before final port matching via notching holes a 1/16 or so. Every little bit helps and raising roofs never hurts the SBF port designs.
