lookin good man, I've heard of alot of horror stories with glass hoods(lots of labor + $ you know) but yours is lookin sharp! Jamie
Oops. Scoop, Don is right. 'Sorry, this is a "lift-off" hood held on with Dzus fasteners (no hinges or latch). They do, however, make fiberglass hoods that are double-skinned and re-inforced in the hinge area. I personally don't know of any Maverick hoods though. You can add a cowl scoop to your existing stock hood though and still keep the latch and hinges functional. I also have an "Aero" type scoop if you're interested. (see Mike Buxton's ride : http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/files/3128-mike_buxton_71_grabber.jpg) and attached pic.
Mr. Rick, I think that is the exact scoop that I have....I'll hafta check the part # and be sure. I can't bring myself to commit to putting it on the car just yet. I want to find another stock maverick hood and put it on that one. I got mine for 35 dollars at OReillys one day. It had been in the attic for years and when I asked how much it was he said make an offer, as if was not in their computer.......and now it's mine. . That thing looks sweet! Preston
Sounds like you got a heckuvva deal! Good luck with the installation when you find another hood. I don't think you'll regret it. Good to 'see' you again. You must've been busy of late.
looks like it's turning out really neat. i have the aero scoop and my next one is going to be a cowl induction hood. since my fabricator here builds them he says he can just graph one on to my fiberglass hood. or he'll build a carbon fiber one for less than i paid for the us body one with shipping. he has a carbon fiber one on his falcon wagon, painted to match his car, and it looks great.
