I agree...I just sent Brent an email asking where he got the info or if it was just a typo or mistake. I'll let you know his reply if he does.
The page has SO MUCH detail... He lists the trannys available, then goes so far to list all the gear ratios of the trannys. However, he only lists the ratios for the 3 speed, no 4 speed ratios. I have no idea where and when 4 speeds were offered, but the one in Mexico has had decades to be converted from a 3 speed. The day you bought a 3 speed Maverick, you could have bought a 4 speed over the parts counter and had it stabbed in by that night... Easy swap. Much easier to believe that was done than factory installed. Dave
I had a 4 speed maverick that I sold about 5 years ago.. it was odd too.. the reverse was where first was.. but this was beat up with no power steering.. sold it for $500
I can tell you as a person who ordered his car new, and I persisted on getting a 4 speed that they were not available in our cars in the USA. Brent Mulvaney has some factory salesman order materials that claim the option. None were produced. Dan
odd.. then I guess I had one that wasnt real? mine was a 4speed I6 with no power steering - think maybe a 75.. oh well
Roundup is the Maverick Comet Club International's annual get together. This year once again being held in Owensboro KY. We have drag racing, and just lots of good fellowship. It is a chance for all MCCI members to get together and hang. For some of us it is a 5 day event, but for most it is 3 days or less. Dan
