According to the VIN...it is a 1972. Not sure how it got a big bumper on there. Can you post a picture?

2K92L210916 2 = 1972 model year. K = Kansas City, MO assembly plant. 92 = 4 door Maverick. L = 250 I6. 210916 = 110,916 car scheduled for production at the Kansas City, MO plant for the 1972 model year. If that VIN is correct, then I would imagine this car also has a "Fasten Seatbelts" light in the center of the dash. It sounds to me like someone either swapped a '73 front bumper and valance to your '72, or put a '72 dash in your '73. My '73 4 door was one of the first built. The VIN is 3X92L100945. That means it is the 945th car scheduled for production in 1973 at the St. Thomas plant. The car was built in August of 1972. The car had a 250. It is 5 lug from the factory. I have to agree with Craig, all 73's were 5 lug. I have yet to see or hear of one that was 4 lug. On the flip side, my '73 2 door is one of the last 73's, vin 3X91L316890, built in late June of '73, it's I6 and 5 lug also. Of course we all know how Ford was. Who knows, they could have used up the last few 4 lug rears on a few of the very first 73's. We all know about the mid 73 switch from package tray to glove box dash.
