I notice that you keep skirting the issue of "how much did it cost"....come on man, just a ballpark is all we are asking.

We have all spent much more on other items. It won't be a shock to us....

"more than 200 but less than 2000" would be good enough for me:D

Well aftermarket unit 1200 - 1500 for complete system minus freon. the 134 cools good if you have electric fans, flex fans will not produce enough air flow to get good temps. You can do what I have done and use a complete evap system and ducts from a different vehicle and install inside and make connections throught the firewall with some bulkhead fittings. I have taken some GM ac units and cut up the box and fabricated them with a plastic welder and installed in a truck me and friend of mine built. I will say this if anyone catches you using r12 and letting any out in the air they can get as much as 20000.00 reward from epa so be careful when using R12.

After two days without a working A/C in the truck, I have decided A/C is a MUST for the Mav. I'm thinking about a factory evaperator, factory condenser, with custom lines around the back of the engine to a sanden style compressor. I had thought of a York style compressor, but the sanden unit is smaller and looks good polished....

That is a decent price, and looks good too. I wouldn't mind that same compressor or one similar size, but mounted down below the alternator so the lines run straight back to the firewall, and not over and around the top of the engine bay...

I wont have a heater...I am going to install a hillbilly style ac system in my car. A small remote controlled window unit in the back seat area. It will be quiet and COLD. No hoses and compressor brakets or freon to deal with, and no back seat drivers either.

It really doesn't look too much different cause I had alot of other more important issues to deal with. This project will eventually come through, one day. I have it all planed out...
