Thanks Sam...and I'd have to say the blue one is my favorite. The red and yellow ones have stock 302's in them. Blue one is far from stock and much more fun to drive. Realistically, it's the only one that's worthy of putting in the shows too. I need to do a little work on the other two pretty soon. They've been getting neglected a bit the last couple of years.
Hey Ray, I noticed when your Maverick was featured in Mustangs and fords it said your car had 450 hp I was just wondering if you don't mind what mods were done to get numbers like that?
Sorry to be so long in answering this...been way too busy trying to get the car ready for the Round-Up. Anyway, the engine I am running was built by a friend of mine several years ago. It was sold to another friend who freshened it up but had to liquidate a lot of stuff before he even fired it up. That's where I came in. It was supposedly dynoed when the first owner was running it in his roadster and I was told it was pushing about 450 horses. I personally will be getting it dynoed the first chance I get so I can REALLY see. It does have lots of goodies in it and is extremely strong. I have yet to put it on the track and hopefully will be able to do that next Thursday in Kentucky. I just put this car on the road back in October so I'm still working out lots of little bugs here and there.
Great pictures of the cars! I have only peviously seen louvers for a Maverick on the green Mexican Shelby show car. Did you make the louvers, or are they available somewhere?
These are the same exact louvers you saw on the Mexican Shelby Mav. The company that made them went out of business many moons ago. I got lucky and found these on eBay a couple of years ago. They were sold by J.C. Whitney back in the 70's and I haven't seen them offered by anyone since. Other than the picture you mentioned, I have only saw one other photo of a white Mav on this message board with the louvers on them. Seems to be a pretty rare item.
