I'm really sorry to see this. You obviously had a lot of money and work in that car. I know you're upset but try to keep it in perspective - cars can be replaced, people cannot. Glad you weren't hurt.

That is just so sad. I can only imagine how you must have felt as it was burning. Glad to hear you are alright. Like many others here, I hope the insurance company will compensate you for the loss. Hang in there.

That is really the most saddening sight. This really sucks.

I don't know much about car fires, but can't that be fixed??? Metal is metal right?? can't the body parts be sanded down and repainted, wiring harness replaced, and a whole new interior swapped in???

This could happen to anybody, and that is what is scary.

I know how you feel. I have been a victim of fire, it really sucks. I am really sorry that this happened to you. I guess the only thing that I can say is that the car is totalled in value. However, it is not destroyed. From the good pictures you posted I am certain the fire was not hot enough to totally warp everything. Looks as if though the fire was contained to the front half of the car as far as heat goes. In a former life I used to rebuild totalled cars. Some were fire damaged cars. I certainly could fix that car. The sad part is most people cannot do this type work and it is really not financially feasible to fix it. You are in a state of shock right now and you stated that you were done with Mavs. I hope you change your mind and find a way to get into another one, or possibly rebuild this one. An ole guy once told me, Cars dont die, they aint human. A man built um, and a man can rebuild um.
    You are in our thoughts.
    Dan

    Holy $h!T,

Sorry about your loss. Like mentioned before it still is a car and not you or a living loved one. I love my car very much so I know this is not easy to deal with. I kinda agree with Dan Starnes. Rebuild it as A Drag only car. Make your own dash out off aluminium etc........Send it out to be sand blasted 100% Make stripped down drag terror. One Fiberglass seat, Mini tub it if need be. Cut out the shock towers Since they maybe warped anyway go mustang II or at least make room for a stroked windsor.

    SAVE THE MAV PLEASE!!!!!!!!

or at least get another one
    ;)
    Keep us posted
and Good Luck to any future projects Mav or not....

I am very sorry for your loss. Just finishing redoing my Mav allows me to realize how much work you must have had in that car. :( If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know. Stay strong man.
    Best of luck,
    -Corbin

Has happened to me twice, but both times an extinguisher was handy. One was my 69 428 cobra jet Mach 1.

I love that Ford puts the fuel line right mext to the distributor. Brilliant engineering.
