I'm not too happy with the shops near me, which is why I've opted for a new engine. But if there's a good one I don't know about, I'd be interested.

Seems like a lot of money, and work, for a car you are going to drive in the snow, it'll be rotted out in two years. Sell it, and use that money, and the money you were going to spend, and buy yourself a newer car...

I'm Really shocked to hear some of these comments. My car has been in Pa. since it was built and shipped here. It is not rotted out by any means and wont be in two years. Sell my car!? Really!?! I'm soon about to abandon this thread and I'm getting a little irritated now. The title of this thread is very clear and only a few of you have tried keeping on topic. To those posters, I thank you. Please stop telling me to sell my car or to park it. It is my choice to drive this classic anytime of the year I choose.

You can do what you want with your car (it's yours, obviously). It just happens to be a fact that Pennsylvania winters rot cars that were made in the '70s. If it's as clean as you say, then it wasn't driven daily in the wintertime by previous owners.

I think the only reason the thread went off topic is because pretty much all of your questions have been answered as much as possible by the members here.

    Good luck.

You might try searching FordSix. If there is a quality builder in your area, I think those guys would know about it.

I'm in York. Are you familiar with the machine shop of PA Truck Center in Wrightsville? Used to be the old York Mac in West York. That's where I get my machine work done and they do rebuilds. 717-792-2636

Nothing wrong with the six, or driving it daily either, as long as you take care of it, as you would any other car. We forget that these things were driven daily by millions of people, and those that were fairly well cared for are still around.

My point exactly. It's not like snow and rain is a new invention that wasn't thought about when these cars were built, or driven through in the past 38 years. Mine is still in excellent condition. I take care of my cars, and am not scared of a little weather. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i respect that. My opinion is that, this is MY choice and I'd rather drive it then store it.

Found a crate engine from http://www.gearheadengines.com/ The staff was very helpful and after asking a lot of questions, it seems that their engines are done right. We am having it installed and will update everyone once it is.
