Yes rodder your right about contacting someone which I did, I contacted comp cams and after like 6 emails back and fourth he suggested a mutha thumpr cam.. From what I'm told by many they are garbage cams but they try and push them.. That's why I tried to pick something from the xtreme energy line they had

The cam in the first post is going to idle around 1300 rpm you will need a 3,500 converter and a 4.30-4.56 gear to get the most out of it.

You already own the XE268H. With the 1.7 rockers it will make excellent power. Good cylinder pressure and still have good top end power.

I have the XE274 in my car..but I have a 351w! I really like mine...had it over 12 years now..runs low 12's with 3:50 gears(closed exhaust) and 11:50's with a 75 shot and is very low maintenance. I drive mine everywhere... including 2 trips totalling over 3000miles each with no trouble whatsoever! Reasonable power(great torque)with minimal tinkering and not hard on parts at all!

I used to run the XE268 in my 302 with AFR 165's 1.90/1.60, 1.6 rockers, weiand stealth intake, shorty headers, and 2600-2800 converter, 3.80's out back. Handled well. Don't know if you'll need to clay your PTV clearance, but, .060 is acceptable by my machinist's standards. Never had a problem with my set-up. Sorry, I should have read the rest of the thread before I responded. You've probably made your decision by now. Hope it works out!
